Shepton Mallet Prison

Shepton Mallett Prison Trip September 2023

On a soggy September day, Adventure class braved the rain to explore Shepton Mallett Prison. Our Prison guard/guide was called Charlie and all the boys listened intently to her fascinating history of the prison. We had plenty of questions and loved finding out about the gruesome past of this building. Of particular interest was the execution room and 17th century cell that the boys all enjoyed crawling into. The pupils all came back having learnt something new about the history of punishments in the UK.
