On Thursday 3rd March, Discovery, Invincible and Eclipse journeyed to busy city of Bristol to visit We the Curious, a science museum full of wonders!
On arrival, we were given time to explore the interactive museum. We learned about gravity and air resistance (when we raced parachutes), considered the everyday uses of sand and how it is made, explored some mega-bubbles (and put ourselves in bubble tunnels!) and were in awe of some clever optical illusions!
After a picnic lunch, it was time to visit the Education room for a workshop centred around building circuits. We were taught how to make a ‘scribble bot’; we made a simple circuit, attached it to a cup with coloured pens, and then let our bots loose and marvelled at their art work! After that, we created some competitive ‘brush bots’. We used the same circuit, but we needed to explore which weight would be most effective to make our brush bots race the quickest!
Overall, it was a wonderful day of science- we were, indeed, the Curious!!
