Upper Key Stage 2 children were lucky enough to have a visit from Jo Richardson from Space Detectives who has previously worked with Tim Peake and the European Space Education Office.
She came in and delivered a two hour workshop called ‘Our Place in Space’ where the children learnt about how the solar system was created and how the planets orbited around the Sun. Children took part in an experiment using water, black pepper and dishwasher soap to demonstrate just how each planet was made. They then went outside and created their own human solar system.
The boys also got to ask questions about space and were particularly interested in finding more about black holes!
